My Daddy Reads

Celebrated arts educator and award-winning artist Annie Ruth teams up with lyricist Teniah (now named Mys Monet) to share a heart-warming adaptation of their song, "My Daddy Reads". The inspiring and engaging words encourage both reading and singing.  Beautiful full-color art and graphics will delight young readers and provide teachable moments for both children and adults.

The book also provides a special affirmation at the end of the book, written by Annie Ruth, to inspire fathers.
Dad's Night Out Weekend
My Daddy Reads is a national campaign that celebrates fathers reading to their children. It is designed to increase fathers involvement in children's literacy development and encourage fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other father figures to read to their children.

Dada Rafiki (pronounced Dah-Dah RAH fee- KEE) means sister friend in the Kiswahili language of Eastern Africa. It is an inspirational and multicultural celebration of visual art, music, dance, spoken word and song, honoring women from all walks of life. The celebration occurs annually with varying themes. It is not an award, therefore the featured women cannot be nominated. Many of the honorees serve behind the scenes and others are well known. The common thread that connects all of the featured honorees is their heart for service to others.

My Sista, My Friend Leadership Circle
My Sista My Friend Conferences & Workshops are designed to positively influence the way young women perceive themselves. Positive adult women present empowering sessions in a one-day conference or off-site location.  The presentations are an opportunity to build confidence in young women ages 13 - 19. Presenters incorporate their personal life's lessons with hands-on exercises to teach the building blocks of self-esteem, self-confidence and critical thinking.
